A couple of weeks ago, I blogged about a Porsche 91SC that had covered almost 300,000 miles (click here). Well, yesterday I got to drive the Porsche and I came away impressed.
OK, it wasn’t perfect but it was pretty damn good, with a decent gearchange, plenty of power and a great looking body and interior. Even better, the Porsche comes with an a superb history file, including the original purchase invoice from 1981 (it cost £17,202.47).
The first owner, a Dr W F Scott from Farnham Common in Buckinghamshire, kept an astonishingly detailed record of the car’s maintenance during his 16-year ownership – right down to the measurements of each brake pad, all hand-written in a tiny hand.
If anyone knows the whereabouts of the meticulous Dr Scott, do please get in touch.
