Which? magazine gives Porsche top marks

I’ve just received a press release stating that Which? magazine has given Porsche top marks in a survey. I’m not a Which? reader but always assume it’s full of tests on washing machines and other white goods. I was obviously wrong. Here’s the release from Porsche in its entirety:

The 2012 Which? magazine car survey has placed the Porsche Cayman top in the Sportscar segment of its influential annual review. Customers also rated the Porsche brand and its retail network as the best in the business in the UK.

The magazine reported that the mid-engined Cayman coupe is “sensational to drive, with scintillating performance and ultra-crisp handling.”

Based on comments from over 39,000 readers, the magazine survey went on to rate Porsche as the number one best car brand with peerless customer satisfaction. The survey’s conclusion was that drivers looking to buy a sports car should “choose one with good reliability and an outstanding 94% customer score. Porsches are brilliant to drive, build quality is bank-vault solid, and its dealers finished top for sales satisfaction.”

The Boxster (2007-2012) was also praised as a ‘Best Used Buy’, the mid-engined roadster judged to be “sublime to drive.” This fact was reflected in the Boxster topping the table for driving enjoyment, with an impressive owners’ satisfaction rating of 99.6%.

With a customer score of 85.5%, the performance of the 34 Porsche Centres in Great Britain and Ireland further consolidated the marque’s success in the Which? survey.

Underlining the quality of the Porsche driving experience and vehicle design and durability, the respected customer opinion research centre, J. D. Power and Associates, has placed the Stuttgart sports car company in first place for brand appeal in the United States, following the latest ‘Automotive, Performance, Execution and Layout Study (APEAL)’ survey.

Alongside the Porsche brand, customers also voted for the Porsche 911 as best vehicle in the Premium Sporty sector. The Cayenne was successful in its category to also win a J.D. Power Award. Grades from ten different categories are integrated into the overall score including design, comfort, dynamic performance and suitability for everyday driving.
