There’s a new Porsche 718 Boxster but don’t forget the original

Today, Porsche unveiled its next generation Boxster, and what a departure it is! First, the car’s got a new badge – 718. Previously, Boxsters were badged just that – Boxster – with the model number something that Porsche nerds used to differentiate the different versions. Why the Porsche Cayman is so good

We’ve had several Porsche Caymans in stock recently and it’s been great getting reacquainted with such a great car. The Cayman was introduced in 2006 and was essentially a Boxster with a fixed roof and hatchback. However, to describe it like that would be to do the Cayman an injustice. When it comes to innovators, Ferdinand Porsche is hard to beat. This was the man who designed a four-wheel-drive electric car at the start of the 20th century which pioneered the principles behind NASA’s Lunar Roving Vehicle developed by Boeing in the early 1970s.
