This is a 2009 Porsche 997 Turbo, which means it’s one of the last to be powered by the legendary Mezger engine. Plus, it’s only covered 27,900 miles from new, so it’s a very desirable car, indeed.

The Porsche is finished in gleaming Basalt Black Metallic with matching black Turbo wheels and all-red rear light clusters.

The interior boasts full black leather and an impressive specification. Options include Tiptronic transmission, a leather centre console with the ‘Turbo’ script embossed on it, plus Sport Chrono, cruise control, heated seats, rear Park Assist, Bose Sound Package, PCM (Porsche Communication Management) with sat-nav, Bluetooth phone connectivity and voice control. There are also automatic wipers and rear-view mirror, multifunction steering wheel, sunroof, fully electric seats with driver’s memory, stainless steel door sills, 12-volt socket in passenger footwell, and an Alcantara headlining.

Sport Chrono Pack is an important feature. It gives a chronograph atop the dash plus a Sport button. These hold lower gears longer and sharpen up the throttle response for a thrilling drive. PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management) firms up the suspension, too.

As you’d expect from such a low-mileage car, it is in superb condition, inside and out. It also has a full main dealer service history. The Porsche is due a major service in September 2022 so we shall do that ready for the new owner. It won’t then need another service for two years.

The so-called Mezger engine is an evolution of the unit designed by Hans Mezger for the twin-turbocharged 911 GT1 Le Mans racecar and is also used in the GT3 and GT3. It is completely different to the engine found in other Porsche 997s and is renowned for its power delivery and ruggedness.
