Here’s an opportunity to buy one of Porsche’s best track-focussed cars for a great price. The reason we have priced this 2007 997 GT3 RS so low is because it is Cat C. In other words, it was previously damaged in an accident, but has since been fully repaired and inspected. There’s no doubt it’s a striking machine, finished in Signal Orange with complementing black 19-inch wheels, door mirrors and that huge, fixed rear wing. The car is in really lovely condition, inside and out.

The black and orange interior is pure RS, with Sports seats, half roll-cage, Alcantara trim (including the steering wheel and gear-lever), Sabelt race harnesses (plus normal seatbelts) and Sport Chrono. There’s also some home comforts in the form of automatic climate control, a CDR24 radio/CD player and, unusually, cruise control – ideal for those road-trips to Continental race circuits! It also has PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management) which gives a choice of suspension settings.

The car has covered just 11,300 miles and has a partial service history. We shall give it a major service, including spark plugs and brake fluid, before sale.

It is believed that just 119 997.2 GT3 RSs were produce in right-hand drive UK specification. The RS is powered by the legendary, race-derived Mezger flat-six 3.6-litre engine, which produces 415bhp and drives the rear wheels. The RS is light in weight, thanks to its stripped out interior, carbonfibre parts and plastic rear window. Combined with superb handling and steering, the GT3 RS is huge fun on road or track, and is very much a modern classic.
