Porsche 911 Targa Project

£27,995.00

This 1976 Porsche 911 Targa is a car we are selling in as-is condition as a project for someone.

The bodywork has some rust in the usual places. Namely, the B posts inside the door shuts, the outer sills and inner wings. There may be further corrosion once the car’s stripped down. The outer panels, including the front wings, appear good, and the white paintwork is mostly tidy. It’s by no means a complete basket case.

Mechanically, the car has a later 3.0-litre 911SC engine which runs but is a bit temperamental (we suspect the fuel injection system needs tweaking). It does need at least part of the exhaust system replacing and new rocker cover gaskets. A full service wouldn’t go amiss, either. The rear brake discs could do with replacing and new hoses all round. As with any project, be prepared for other work over and above these main items.

The good news is, the five-speed 915 gearbox has been rebuilt and changes sweetly, the front seats have been retrimmed in stylish and period-correct red tartan, and the Targa roof has been refinished and fits nicely.

This would be a great starting point for someone looking for a rolling project. Without too much work, the car could be brought up to a roadworthy standard, keeping a patina of age, or you could go the whole hog with a full restoration. Whatever you choose, you’re end up with a very cool 1970s classic Porsche 911. You’d be very welcome to come and see the car for yourself and decide if it’s what you are looking for. We have full workshop facilities so can work with the buyer to bring the car back to life.

Please note that we are selling the car as a project with known and possibly unknown faults. No warranty is offered. The car is current registered on Irish plates.
