The RS version of the 997 GT3 Gen2 incorporated the improvements to the standard model, including the 3.8-litre engine. However, in this case the engine generated 15bhp more power than in the standard GT3, creating 450bhp.

The 997 RS was the first 911 since the 964 Turbo to feature wider than standard front wheelarches, while the rear arches were the wider items from the Carrera 4 range. These allowed the use of nine-inch-wide wheels at the front and 12-inch wides ones out back.

A massive carbonfibre rear wing on aluminium legs completed the visual changes, while wild graphics were optional.

As with the previous GT3 RS, the interior was set up for track use, with race seats and harnesses.
