Updated 1959 Corvette – warning, no Porsche content!

OK, it’s got nothing whatsoever to do with Porsches but this is a gorgeous looking car that I just had to share.

Everyone knows that old Corvettes look great but are useless to drive, so a German company, POGEA Racing has come up with a solution – a car with the looks of a ’59 combined with modern technology.

Modern refinements include a tubular chassis, 385bhp V8 engine from a 2011 Corvette, five-speed manual gearbox, 19-inch wheels, LED rear lights, and an Alpine sound system.

With a top speed of 178mph and a 0-60mph time of 3.9 seconds, this is one Corvette that goes as well as it looks! Yours for €225,000.

    Bonne journée!

I’ve always loved the first two or three generations of Corvettes, and I like the idea of taking a classic car and fitting it with modern improvements while keeping the overall spirit intact. For example, Singer did an AMAZING work on 911s and i absolutely love that.

There’s only one problem here for me : the rims. I’m sorry but they’re directly out of a bad 2010 RnB clip, not at all 1950-ish… But apart from that, it’s seems very nice !

I agree with Pierre. IMO a nice set of period correct Americans would complete it nicely. Those are the 5 spoke ones with a flat grey finish and a polished outer lip.

    I’ll take the Corsair if you don’t mind….. 🙂
