A friend sent me a link to an advert for a 1989 Porsche 911 Speedster which is for sale in Australia. Now, any 911 Speedster is a rare beast but this one is particularly interesting because it’s done just 1617 miles from new. In other words, it’s effectively never been used!
It’s a wide-bodied car finished in Midnight Blue Metallic. From the photos, it looks brand new, as you’d expect.
It’s hard to put a value on a Porsche like this, but the asking price of AUS$164,995 (about £108,000) sounds about right. The problem, though, with super-low mileage Porsches, is what do you do with them? Start driving it and putting miles on the clock and you erode what is unique about it, but it always seems a shame not to drive a Porsche! I think I’d rather buy an example with a decent mileage on the clock and not have that worry!
