This is a 1984 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 that has been backdated to look more like an RS from the 1970s. It has the trademark whale tail engine cover and long bonnet, plus RS-style front and rear bumpers, made from glassfibre and supplied by Paul Stephens. Fuchs wheels and ‘Carrera’ side stripes complete the retro look.

The interior has recently been fitted with period-style Sports seats, finished in blue houndstooth fabric, with the rear seats trimmed to match. This work was done by Porsche trim specialists Southbound, at a cost of almost £4500. There are also RS-style door panels, while a Retro head unit neatly combines modern technology with retro looks.

The Porsche comes with an incredible history folder, with invoices dating back to 1987, showing that the car has been meticulously maintained over the years. The engine was rebuilt at 136,000 miles and a new clutch fitted at the same time – the car has covered just 20,000 miles since then. The car is due a service now which we shall do before it is sold.
