Description

Here’s a stunning 1981 Porsche 911SC, finished in the very rare Arrow Blue with Fuchs alloy wheels. It really is eye-catching and in lovely, as-original condition.

The interior is blue leatherette with blue/black Berber seats, and is also very tidy. It has a sunroof, a modern Kenwood radio head unit with Bluetooth connectivity, plus a Laserline remote locking and alarm system.

The Porsche comes with a well-documented history, with two stamped service books plus a large folder of paperwork, which goes right back to a 1984 sales invoice when it was with official Porsche dealer Malaya Garage in West Sussex. We sold the car to the last owner (and only the fifth) in 2019 and have maintained it for him every year since. In 2024, the car had over £8,000 of work carried out, including attending to paintwork issues, a service, and fitting a new alternator. In January 2026, the Porsche was treated to a major service, including spark plugs and brake fluid, so it’s all ready for the new owner to enjoy.

Introduced in 1978, the 911SC became the only normally aspirated 911 in Porsche’s range, after the confusing range of models offered the previous few years. The SC was a development of the Carrera 3.0 that preceded it and kept broadly the same mechanics and bodyshell. The 3.0-litre engine was basically unchanged, albeit with an aluminium rather than magnesium crankcase. At first, the power output was 180bhp, but this increased to 204bhp in 1980, thanks to revised fuel injection, camshaft timing and an increased compression ratio. For some time, the SC lived in the shadow of the later Carrera 3.2, but it has now become a sought-after classic 911, thanks to its relative rarity and its lively, free-revving engine.

Philip Raby Specialist Cars is refreshingly different. We like to build a friendly relationship with customers — before, during, and after you buy from us. You won’t get a hard sell, but you will get friendly and professional advice to ensure that we find exactly the right car for you. We have sold hundreds of Porsches and other specialist cars and have vast experience to share with you. We don’t just sell Porsches — we service them as well. We are based in the historic village of Bosham, on the south coast of England, nestled between the South Downs and Chichester Harbour, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It’s a lovely area to visit, and you are very welcome to come and view our stock or just have a chat about cars.

Each car we sell goes through a thorough mechanical inspection, and any faults found are put right before sale. This ensures that your new car is ready for you to enjoy from day one, without you having to worry about a thing. In the unlikely event that you have a problem, we include a six-month warranty underwritten by us. We stand by this warranty, so if you have any issue with your Porsche, wherever you are in the UK, we will work with you to put things right, without any quibble or fuss. So do please get in touch for a chat and to arrange a visit or a live video – please click here for finance details.

Philip Raby says: “The SC has always been one of my favourite 911s, as the 3.0-litre engine is so lively and willing. This one looks great with its rare colour, and is a lot of fun to drive.”
