We are very excited to have this unique Caterham Seven in stock. Not only is it a rare 50th Anniversary car, built to commemorate 50 years of Seven production, it is also the actual car that was featured on BBC Top Gear, series 8, episode 7. Jeremy, Richard and James were set the challenge of building a Caterham, while their tame racing driver, the Stig, was driving another Seven from the Caterham factory to the Knockhill race circuit in Scotland. The boys had to complete their build before the Stig arrived! You can see the film of the challenge below.

Thankfully, the car went back to Caterham where it was professionally built by the factory ready for sale. A special Top Gear plaque on the dash has been signed by the three presenters. It also has a 50th Anniversary plaque, number four.

Getting down to details, it is a Roadsport SV with the larger Series 5 chassis. The body is finished in Platinum Silver Metallic with 50th Anniversary gold highlights, and carbonfibre front wings. The car includes a full hood and doors, plus a half-hood for summer use, and a hood bag. There’s a heated windscreen plus the option of a carbonfibre aero screen. The wheels are metallic grey 15-inch Superlight alloys shod with Avon CR500 195/45 R15 tyres (a spare wheel is included).

The interior boasts black leather adjustable seats, on a lowered floorpan, carbon dashboard, leather central armrest, four-point harnesses, a removable Momo steering wheel, plus a 12-volt socket and USB socket.

The engine is a R300 specification 1.8 K-series engine, producing around 160bhp. It features roller-barrel throttle bodies, Emerald ECU and a Powerspeed polished exhaust.The power goes through a six-speed manual gearbox and a limited-slip differential.

The mechanical specification is completed by Nitron adjustable front and rear suspension and uprated AP Racing big brake kit. All in all, this is one of the best-specced Caterhams you will find. It’s a huge amount of fun to drive and the combination of the Top Gear connection and the 50th special edition makes it very collectable.
