2001 Porsche 996 Carrera

This 2001 Porsche 996 Carrera is a car we took in part exchange, but isn’t quite up to our retail standards, so we are selling it in as-soon condition. Don’t get us wrong, it’s not a bad car. In fact, it has a lot going for it.

It’s a later 3.6-litre 996 and is finished in Lapis Blue Metallic with a full black leather interior. Options include hard-backed Sports seats, heated seats, Bose sound system, PSM (Porsche Stability Management), alloy gear knob and handbrake lever. The car is in very tidy condition, inside and out, and drives beautifully, with plenty of power and great handling, and no untoward knocks or rattles. There’s a sports exhaust and the climate control blows icy cold.

The car has a well documented service history, with recent work including new rear dampers and springs, and new front brake discs. The MoT runs to May 2020.

The bad news, perhaps, is that the car has covered 136,800 miles, there’s a slight noise from the rear which we suspect is a wheel bearing, the brake pedal is a bit spongy (but effective) and the radio doesn’t work. The last service was in July 2017 at 133,849 miles, so it’s due a service now on time if not mileage. That’s as far as we have gone with our appraisal.

So, what’s it worth? We’re not sure so we’re inviting offers. You’re welcome to come and see it for yourself and have a drive before committing. We reckon it could be a great project for someone. We are selling it strictly as-seen with no form of warranty. Please get in touch if you’d like to take a look.
