1992 Nissan Skyline GTR
£22,995.00
This 1992 Nissan Skyline R32 GTR benefits from having had around £5000 invested in it, in parts alone, during the last year, all of which is documented. The previous owner was a professional car technician and worked on the vehicle himself. There’s too much to list here but work of note includes an overhauled cylinder head, refitted with HKS gasket and HKS APR studs and nuts, new Garrett GT2860R-5 turbochargers, larger intercooler, remote oil filter, Link G4 ECU, HKS timing belt, uprated fuel pump, N1 water pump, Mishimoto alloy radiator and twin fans. There are also new EBC brakes with refurbished calipers and an R33 master cylinder. The paddle clutch is paired with a lightweight flywheel. The correct BBS wheels are shod with good Michelin Sport 4 tyres, and the suspension has been upgraded with coilovers and Drift Works arms, while there’s a stainless steel exyhaust system. The battery has been relocated to the boot. There’s also a timer to protect the Turbos, a Clifford remote locking and alarm, carbonfibre front and rear spoilers, plus many more worthwhile upgrades.
The engine has been dyne-tested and produces a very worthwhile 308bhp, which is modest for a modified R32 engine so there’s plenty in reserve if you want to take it to the next level.
The car is a Japanese import and came to the UK in 2006. The mileage is stated as 122,500 but it is said that this has been confused with the original kilometre reading but, sadly, we have no way of proving this. The colour seems to have originally been grey and it is now Bayside Blue Metallic and, if we’re honest, the paintwork isn’t perfect but quite passable (there are no signs of corrosion).
The interior is tidy, with a non-standard Recaro driver’s seat and a turboboost gauge, plus a modern radio head-unit. The passenger seat is a bit stained on the fabric, while the rear seats are better.
We are Porsche specialists so this is something quite different for us, and we are pleasantly surprised by this Skyline – it’s great fun to drive with astonishing power and great handling. We have to admit, it’s way more advanced than Porsches of the same period!
