I think the UK is unique in that we have a car registration system that has encouraged so-called personalised number plates to exchange hands for often crazy money.
It’s something that foreigners just don’t understand and, indeed, many people in the UK don’t get either. I was chatting with friends recently and someone said “One thing I really can’t understand is personalized plates”. He was speechless when I admitted I had one!
My plate is simple – C4 PFR. The C4 because it was originally on a Porsche Carrera 4 and PFR are my initials. I like as it’s not trying to be gimmicky or spell a word and I’ll hold onto it for life now.
