Cayman Generation 2 (2009-2011)

2009-2011

In line with the Boxster, the Cayman was revised for 2009. For the standard model, the brand new engine had a capacity of 2.9 litres, up from 2.7, which, in conjunction with other improvements, increased power by 20bhp to 265bhp. Fuel consumption improved, too, especially in conjunction with the new optional PDK transmission, which replaced the previous Tiptronic. Note that this engine did not have the direct fuel injection (DFI) fitted to the Cayman S.

Visually, the new car could be identified by new front and rear ends, including new LED rear light units, redesigned headlamps and LED daylight driving lamps.
