Porsche 997 Carrera 3.6 engine is a peach

I’ve just been driving a 2005 Porsche 997 Carrera Cabriolet. I’d forgotten just how sweet the 3.6-litre 997 engine is. It’s a beautifully free-revving unit that embodies all that is great and fun about 911 engines. Indeed, I prefer it to the 3.8-litre Carrera S engine; sure it’s more powerful but it just doesn’t feel as eager. Less outlay for more fun – that’s a win-win in my book.
