New Porsche Cayenne Turbo S

Does the world need a more powerful Porsche Cayenne? Probably not, but there’s no denying that the new Cayenne Turbo S is an attractive proposition.

Compared to the standard Turbo, power is hiked a hefty 50bhp to 550bhp, with torque up from 700 to 750Nm. That equates to an astonishing 0-62mph time of 4.5 seconds (this is a big four-by-four, remember) and a top speed of 175mph (again, remember what this is!).

The suspension is tweaked accordingly to ensure what Porsche calls ‘maximum dynamic performance’, it’ll handle well in other words. On top of air suspension with PASM there is Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC), which reduces the roll in curves to practically zero, improving agility and comfort. Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) is also standard and operates with torque vectoring at the rear wheels together with an electronically controlled rear differential lock.

Externally, the S is singled out by gloss black intakes, headlamp surrounds and mirror housings, plus 21-inch wheels with gloss black inserts.

The interior is well specced with a choice of two colour ways; black/carrera red or black/luxor beige, with lashings of carbonfibre.
