The August 2014 issue of GT Porsche has just landed with a thud through the letterbox and I am delighted to see that that a Porsche 964 that I sold is on the front cover. Oddly, the car was bright red when I sold it but it’s now silver – and looks all the better for it.
The car was photographed to accompany a story I wrote to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Porsche 964 – a car whose fortunes have changed over the years more than those of any other 911.
The launch of the 964 also heralded the Carrera 4 and so the issue contains a drive of the current 991 Carrera 4S – a car which the magazine claims is the best current Carrera money can buy!
Back to features written by me, there’s a Cayman buyers’ guide, a look at 996 GT3 RS values and a guide to Porsches costing from £80-90,000.
I’m also pleased that a Porsche 996 Turbo that I sold recently is being documented in the Long-Term Fleet section of the magazine. Actually, I’m a little envious of that car’s buyer – it really is a lovely example and I rather wish I’d kept it for myself!
There’s also plenty more Porsche love in this 164 page issue. Find out more by clicking here.
