Porsche 964 Anniversary wanted

We have a customer looking for a Porsche 964 Anniversary. It’s a sad story – he had an Anniversary that he loved but it got written off in an accident. The problem is, just 42 right-hand drive examples came to the UK when the car was produced in 1993, to  celebrate 30 years of the Porsche 911. We know of one other car that’s been written off and at least two that have gone overseas, and inevitably others will have been lost over the years. Indeed, we suspect that there are less than 30 964 Anniversaries left in the UK. […]

Porsche 996 40th Anniversary – a forgotten gem

A customer came to visit yesterday in her Porsche 996 Turbo, and very nice it was too. She mentioned in passing that she was thinking of replacing the Turbo with a 996 40th Anniversary car. At first, this seemed a strange idea but when she explained her reasoning, it began to make sense. The 40th Anniversary, as the name suggests, celebrated 40 years of the Porsche 911, and was sold in 2003 and 2004. A total of 1963 were built, in a nod to the year that the 911 was introduced. It was painted in GT Silver Metallic (a shade […]

Porsche 964 Anniversary sells for top money

The Porsche 964 Anniversary was a limited edition 911 built in 1993 to celebrate 30 years of the Porsche 911. It’s rare to see them come up for sale – I’ve only ever sold one – so I was intrigued when one appeared in the UK classifieds. Car number 170 had done under 40,000 miles – low for any 964 these days – and appeared to be in beautiful condition. I did think that the asking price of £40,000 was a little optimistic, even for such a low-mileage example, as the last one I saw was closer to £25,000. However, […]

Porsche 964 Anniversary club

I’m a great fan of the Porsche 964 series and, in particular, enjoy the rare 964 Anniversary, a special edition built to celebrate 30 years of the Porsche 911. It’s a rare car, just 911 were built and sold around the world. I’ve only had the privilege to sell two. Also called the Celebration or the Jubi, these wide-bodied 964s came with a great spec and each one had its own number. Despite its rarity, there’s a small but active club for these cars, run by the ever-enthusiastic Thomas Englert in Germany, who owns car number 107. Thomas produces a […]
