We’re big fans of the 911SC, and this 1979 car is a great example. It has had a full engine and gearbox rebuild, and has covered just 1000 miles since.

The Guards Red paintwork has also been repainted to a high standard, and the car looks stunning, with its whale tail spoiler and classic Fuchs alloy wheels, which are shod with brand-new Bridgestone tyres.

It’s a similar story inside. The seats have been professionally retrimmed in the original Porsche tartan fabric and look simply wonderful – a lovely bit of Seventies’ retro. A sunroof and modern immobiliser system are further benefits.

The Porsche comes with a large history file, detailing the recent work to the engine and gearbox, plus lots more, as well as older records. There are MoT certificates dating back to 1984, which verify that the mileage is correct.

The car has just had its first service and tune since the engine rebuild, and is an absolute delight to drive. The 3.0-litre engine is a sweet, free-revving unit which gives the SC a fun and lively character. Combine this with the relatively rarity of the 911SC, and you have a desirable and useable classic Porsche.
