Here’s a great video by Jack of motoring YouTube channel, Number 27, comparing two cars from our showroom – a 924S and an early Boxster. Two very affordable and fun entry-level Porsches. Find out which he prefers. You can get full details of these cars and all our stock by clicking here.
Porsche is proud to introduce the third generation of the Cayenne, the sports car among sports utility vehicles. This latest edition of the successful all-wheel drive four door sports car from the Stuttgart marque is a completely new development, and combines typical Porsche performance with everyday versatility. Powerful turbocharged engines, a new eight-speed Tiptronic S automatic gearbox, new chassis systems and an innovative display and control concept with total connectivity combine to raise sport and comfort to a new level. At launch, there are two newly-developed six-cylinder petrol engines to choose from. The Cayenne is powered by a 340 […]
It was back in 1993 that Porsche teased the world with an all-new concept car at the American International Auto Show. This cool mid-engined roadster was clearly influenced by the old 550 Spyder yet was very much a forward-thinking design. The car’s name – ‘Boxster’ – was written in tortoiseshell on its rear, and the interior featured exposed cooling fans which were extremely, er, cool. The public fell in love with the Boxster concept car so Porsche dutifully put it into production, with the first Boxsters going on sale in late 1996. The production Boxster was different to the prototype […]
Recently, I was visited by Jack Pecoraro, who runs a YouTube channel called Number 27, which is all about cars. Jack was keen to road test a Porsche Cayman S for his channel, and it just so happens we have one in stock. He tempted me with the carrot of letting me drive his Lotus Esprit Turbo – a car I’d never driven before, and Jack had never tried a Cayman before. Actually, it turned out I wasn’t just driving the Lotus for fun, Jack was using it as his camera car, with GoPros clamped all around it. My job, […]
We know that Porsches are great cars but it’s good to get confirmation. In the recent What Car? awards, Porsche did particularly well. The new 718 Cayman was named Best Sports Car, with the judges saying: “…with balletic handling and wonderfully accurate steering, it is the perfect recipe for having fun on the road. Put simply, the Cayman will make you want to get up early for a blast on a country road, plus it won’t get fractious on long motorway drives. The Porsche is cracking value for money.” In addition, the new Porsche 911 Carrera PDK scooped first place […]
I’ve just received a lovely email from a long-term reader, who said he remembers well a piece I wrote in 2002 for 911 & Porsche World magazine. It was about me travelling to Germany to buy a Porsche 964 Carrera 4 for myself. It was nice to be reminded of it, as it was a thoroughly exciting trip (in more ways than one!). Here’s the text of the article – bear in mind it was written 15 years ago (where has the time gone?) so prices and attitudes have changed. There’s something strangely addictive about 911 ownership. Colleagues have long […]
Here’s the ideal gift for the Porsche enthusiast at Christmas. The Porsche 911 Flat-Six Boxer Engine Set lets you build a fully-functional 1:4 model of a 1996 911 engine. The detailed replica features more than 280 components and has a transparent casing so that the moving parts can be seen when the battery-powered engine is switched on. It also features sounds so you get the full effect when it’s running. The Porsche 911 Flat-Six Boxer Engine is a great introduction for older children and motoring fans to the inner workings of such an iconic car engine. It includes a detailed […]
A Porsche 356 Speedster has sold for auction in the USA for a record $605,000 – that’s around £480,000 and about three times the predicted sale price. The rare 1957 Porsche is claimed to be in very original condition, after being carefully stored since 1975.It’s a bit strange that it wasn’t cleaned before sale, as I am sure the metallic blue paintwork could be made to gleam with a bit of effort. Watch the video below to see the car being revealed. It’s a sure sign that classic Porsche prices are remaining firm and, indeed, going up in value. If […]
