Social media – why it’s important

I was delighted to discover that my Twitter account is rated sixth out of 100 Most Influential Car Dealers on Twitter by Car Dealer magazine. You can see the entire list here. What’s remarkable about this, to my mind, is that most of the other names in the top ten are large dealerships, while I’m pretty much a one-man-band. Also, I’ve never really done anything clever on Twitter or Facebook. All I do is put up what I think are useful and interesting posts and I  interact with other people in a chatty, friendly manner. A lot of people I […]

The ultimate Porsche Carrera numberplate?

I can’t see why you’d want the numberplate “Cassera” but if you do, it’s yours for just £19,995. You could buy yourself a Carrera for that! More details here.

A brand new Porsche 996 Carrera 4S!

A friend in the USA just sent me a link to this advert for a Porsche 996 Carrera 4S The first thing that struck me was that it is odd to see an Official Porsche Centre (Center?) selling a 10-year-old car, and then I spotted the mileage. Now, that’s a lot of money for a 996 Carrera 4S but it’s less than half the price of a brand-new Porsche 911. Look at […]

A day in the life…

The great thing about this job, is that no two days are the same. But if there’s such a thing as a typical day, perhaps this was it. Here’s a brief overview of what I’ve been doing. Up at 6.45am to get the kids off to school – they start at 8am which gives me useful time before things really kick off at 9am to reply to the overnight deluge of emails, and to check on Facebook and Twitter. Then I sat down to write my monthly column for GT Porsche magazine, looking at values of Porsches. This month I’m […]

Creating a symphony with seven generations of Porsche 911

The Porsche 911 is 50 years old this year and, as part of the celebrations, Porsche has created this clever video, which has seven generations of Porsche 911 playing happy birthday with their exhaust notes. I’d like to think it’s genuine, too, and not electronically tweaked!
