I’ve just been approached by a television production looking for a Porsche Cayman R for a pilot episode of a new show. I don’t have one but I said I’d put the word out in the hope that someone out there – either an owner or a dealer – is able to help. If you can, please get in touch with me and I’ll pass your details on.
Porsche 911s are remarkably practical sports cars – easy and affordable to live with and will take enough luggage for a couple to go touring for a week or two. There’s space in the front boot and behind the seats. However, making the best use of that space is tricky as normal-sized luggage is never a perfect fit and there’s a very real risk of denting the boot lid by slamming it down on a protruding suitcase. That’s why we’ve teamed up with Hillsalive, makers of bespoke car cases, to offer a versatile range of cases for Porsche luggage. We […]
We’ve just got a lovely Porsche 911SC in stock which reminds me very much of my first ever Porsche 911, which was an SC. This car is Zinc Metallic, whereas mine was Champagne Metallic, but they’re similar shades. This one has a superbly original and striking Pascha interior while mine had a scruffy Berber. Those things aside, though, the car we have now is quite similar in appearance to mine, which I have fond memories of; some of you may remember me running it as a project car in 911 & Porsche World magazine. I’ve always had a soft spot […]
It’s a grey start to the week here on the south coast of England, so I’ve rummaged through the archives (well, iPhoto) and found a colourful photo. This Guards Red Porsche 997 GT3 and Speed Yellow 996 with Aerokit was shot on a few years back on a sunny day near Goodwood. It’s a busy week at Philip Raby Porsche. There’s a lovely 911SC coming into stock as well as a 993 Carrera, and an equally lovely 993 Carrera leaving to go to its lucky new owner. Do please click here to view our current stock and remember to subscribe […]
MSN Cars recently did a feature on cars from the 1970s and 1980s that are threatened with extinction. They were looking at the usual suspects such as the Austin Allegro and Morris Ital – the sort of cars that few are going to shed a tear over their demise (when did you last see one anyway?). The feature did, though, get me thinking about Porsches. Most Porsches from the past remain loved and cherished, with second-hand prices reassuringly high. Indeed, more and more people are treating classic Porsches as an investment that’s better than money in the bank. There are, […]
Exciting news – Porsche has just released details of the new 991 Turbo. For now, here’s a copy of the press release and some photos plus one word – Wow! Click here for a Porsche 911 Turbo you can buy today. “The Porsche model offensive in the anniversary year of the 911 is reaching new heights. 50 years ago, the 911 made its debut at the Frankfurt International Auto Show. And just ten years later, the first 911 Turbo prototype was at the IAA. On this 40th anniversary Porsche is now presenting the new generation 911 Turbo and Turbo […]
