Porsche 991 Carrera 4 and 4S – first photographs

Official photos of the Porsche 991 Carrera 4 and 4S. Details are sketchy but note the return of the full-width rear reflector, although it’s now a shadow of its former self!

Porsche 968 for sale in Holland

A friend in the Netherlands is selling his lovely left-hand drive 1992 Porsche 968 coupe. It’s covered 213,000km and has been well maintained, including a full gearbox overhaul. A 968 is a lovely car, with superb handling and rock-solid build quality. Rarer than the 944 which it replaced, good examples are holding their value nicely. A brand-new Porsche Carrera 3.2?

When I spotted an advert for a Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 priced at a cool £60,000 – three times the price of a very nice example – I had to find out more. So I’ve spent the day at Precision Porsche driving the car and talking to the people behind the car. This in, in effect, as close as you’ll get to a brand new Carrera 3.2. Practically every part of it has been rebuilt, restored or replaced. And at great expense – £500 for a door catch, anyone? In many ways, the car drives just like a well-sorted £20,000 […]

Low mileage Porsche 993 Carrera 4S in the USA

I’ve just received details of a lovely Porsche 993 Carrera 4S which is being sold by its owner in the USA. What’s striking about the car is the mileage – just 29,000. It’s a lovely looking car although those US-spec black overriders front and rear look odd to European eyes! Click here for details and to contact the owner.

Porsche 964 Turbo 3.6 with X88 Powerkit is a rare beast

I’ve always been fascinated by rare Porsches, especially ones from the 1980s and 1990s, so when I received an email about a 1994 964 Turbo 3.6, I sat up and paid attention. The Turbo 3.6 was the second-generation of 964 Turbo, the original being the 3.3-litre car which was powered by a version of the earlier Turbo engine. The Turbo 3.6, though, had an engine based on that in the normally aspirated 964. For the Turbo, the 3600cc engine was uprated with new cylinder heads that accommodated single spark plugs (the Carrera 2 and 4 used twin plugs per cylinder) […]

Porsche 996 40th Anniversary – a forgotten gem

A customer came to visit yesterday in her Porsche 996 Turbo, and very nice it was too. She mentioned in passing that she was thinking of replacing the Turbo with a 996 40th Anniversary car. At first, this seemed a strange idea but when she explained her reasoning, it began to make sense. The 40th Anniversary, as the name suggests, celebrated 40 years of the Porsche 911, and was sold in 2003 and 2004. A total of 1963 were built, in a nod to the year that the 911 was introduced. It was painted in GT Silver Metallic (a shade […]

Porsche open day was a great success

Our Porsche open day in conjunction with AW Motor Sport  proved a great success, with a steady stream of Porsche owners and enthusiasts dropping in throughout the day. Many owners took advantage of our free Porsche healthcheck offer and, thankfully, no real problems were discovered on any of the cars. It was fantastic to meet so many enthusiasts and chat with them about all things Porsche. Here are just a few images from the day. Click a photo to view it full size.

New Porsche Centre opens in Portsmouth

At long last, there is now a Porsche Centre in the central south coast area of England, in Portsmouth near me. Up until now, people in the Southampton, Portsmouth and Winchester areas (highly populated and wealthy cities) have had to travel to Bournemouth or Mid Sussex for an official Porsche experience. A crazy situation. I’ve yet to visit Porsche Portsmouth, but the two-acre site sounds impressive, with roof-top parking! You can find it at Lakeside Business Park, Western Road, Portsmouth, Hampshire, PO6 3PQ. For customer enquiries, please contact the Centre on 02392 212350 or Why not visit the new centre […]

Life is too short to drive boring cars

Spotted this on Facebook and had to share it. 🙂
