I’ve been predicting for some time that 997 prices are going to drop – the cars are getting older and there are a lot out there. Often, though, the under-£30,000 examples tend to be high mileage, so I was impressed by this 2005 Carrera with 34,000 miles for just £26,500, which I spotted for sale.
Now, I’m only going by what’s in the advert, but it does sound very tempting. It’s the 3.6-litre basic Carrera, which has a lovely willing engine, and is finished in popular Seal Grey Metallic with a Cocoa leather interior (see my last post about Sport Classics!).
The spec is spot-on, too, with a switchable Sports exhaust (a popular choice with buyers), Bose sound system, sunroof and parking sensors. It all sounds ideal and, if the reality is as good as the advert, this car is not going to hang around very long!
